G’s Guarantees (@GuaranteesG) breaks down 3 plays that he absolutely loves for tonight’s NFL kickoff featuring the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Dallas Cowboys.

The Plays:

  • Ceedee Lamb O61.5 receiving yards
  • Chris Godwin O60.5 receiving yards

2 Part Teaser: Move Line 6 Points: Buccaneers -2.5 and Over 45.5 Points

NFL Football is finally back and we are being rewarded with a big time matchup. The Bucs are coming off winning a Super Bowl and they return almost everyone on both sides of the ball. Last year they ranked top 5 in both Offensive and Defensive DVOA. The Cowboys were 24th and 23rd in these categories. Now you can say that’s not fair to judge the Cowboys stats from last year. They lost Dak Prescott early in the year and the OL was never healthy. These are true statements, however, with Dak healthy the Cowboys were only 2-3 SU and 0-5 ATS. This was due to the horrible defense as the offense was a top 5 scoring unit. The Cowboys return all their weapons from their top notch offense (with Prescott) and the OL is healthy besides RG Zack Martin who is out with Covid. As long as Dak is truly healthy and isn’t worried about the lower leg he snapped last year, the Cowboys will be able to score some points. The WR trio of Cooper, Lamb, and Gallup are too good to be contained all night. On the other side, the Bucs have a WR trio that is just as good if not better. Evans, Godwin, and Brown should be in for a huge evening. The Cowboys defense let up the 2nd most touchdowns to WRs last year and the did not add much talent in the secondary. The Cowboys do have a new DC in Dan Quinn who is supposed to be known for his defense. However, Quinn just got fired as the Falcons HC last year and his Falcons defenses have been horrible for the last few years. I think the Cowboys will have some growing pains early in the season learning this new scheme.

I think the Bucs will pick up right where they left off last season. This Cowboys defense will be severely outmatched by Tom Brady and company. I expect the Bucs to eclipse 30 points themselves and hold the Cowboys to somewhere in the 20s. This makes the Teaser of Bucs -2.5 and Over 45.5 the play of the night!

CeeDee Lamb O61.5 Rec Yards

It’s no secret the Cowboys are going to have to pass to keep this game competitive. Their defense is horrible and the Bucs run defense is elite. The Bucs ranked 1st in Rushing Yards allowed last season and return pretty much everyone on defense. They even added talented Edge Rusher Joe Tryon in the first round of the NFL draft. Lamb managed to average roughly 59 yards last year and that was with only 5 games of Dak Prescott. When Prescott was healthy, Lamb led the team in targets. He had 40 through 5 weeks. Another factor that should help Lamb is he moves around the formation. Last year he played a ton in the slot and some outside. If the Cowboys were smart, they would move him around to find a mismatch. Also, an interesting note is Amari Cooper has been battling a foot injury all off season. If he isn’t 100%, look for Prescott to feed Lamb more. Love this over!

Chris Godwin O60.5 Rec Yards

Godwin has been as consistent as they come as a WR over the last few years. Tom Brady loves throwing to the slot and that’s predominantly where Godwin lines up. Godwin had over 1000 yards receiving in 12 regular season games plus 4 playoff games. He had 116 targets on the year as well. He has averaged over 80 yards a game over the last two years. Now the Bucs have added Antonio Brown, but that shouldn’t matter for Godwin tonight because this Cowboys secondary is just that bad. There will be plenty of targets to go around. Godwin hit this over in 9 of his 16 games played last year. Combine that with an over/under set at 51.5, Sign me up! I think we will cruise over the Yardage total in this one.
