Game Time: 6:30 (CST)
Game Lines: App St -9 / Total 56
There is a stench around this week 1 showdown between Appalachian State and Eastern Carolina. I’ve been around this stench many of times and its a brutal, crisp, and hallucinogenic fetor. It’s called sucker city.
The Appalachian State Mountaineers come in to tonight’s game as a 9 point favorite. The Mountaineers hiked their way to a 9-3 season last year. It is important to note that they lost key players like QB, Zac Thomas, DB, Shemar Jean-Charles, and OL, Noah Hannon. BUT, second year head coach Shawn Clark returns 17 starters and a league leading SIX-TEEN All-Sun Belt Preseason team members.
The only reason I am noting that is because I just wanted to clarify that this App State team is talented across the field.
I could manipulate stats/articles to dog on the Eastern Carolina Pirates who maneuvered their way to a subpar 3-6 record last year but I don’t want to waste your time and especially my time. SO, I am going to lay out a couple quick notes and give you a winner.
- SUCKER CITY – ECU is getting 70% of the bets and I find it very strange that the public week 1 is so high on a 9 point underdog.
- App State is more talented on both sides of the ball
- First home game for App State since COVID-19 year.
APP STATE -9.
They will cover, they will dominate, the public will lose AGAIN, and the Sharps will prevail.
This could and will get ugly.
