Cardinals @ Reds 8/31

Game Time – 5:40 (Central)

Game Lines: Reds -166, Total 9

Starting Pitching: Miles Mikolas (Cardinals) vs Sonny Gray (Reds)

The Wildcard race is heating up, and there is a pivotal series taking place in Cincinnati, Ohio. The St. Louis Cardinals enter tonight’s game only 2.5 back from the reds after taking a 3-1 win in the series opener last night.

The 71-62 Cincinnati Reds have dropped their last 3 games. In the three straight losses they have managed to score only a single run in each (2 games against the depleted Marlins) and tonight they face off against one of the hottest defensive teams in the MLB. Miles Mikolas draws the start for the Cardinals and has been promising in his 3 starts since returning to the rotation. Mikolas owns a 2.70 ERA in 13.1 innings pitched this year and yes, his numbers do not jump off the page but he is without a doubt the best pitcher the hurting reds have faced during this cold spell. There is no doubt that the Reds can turn the bats around at any moment but I don’t see it happening tonight.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals enter tonight’s game with lots of optimism buzzing around the lineup. Players like Tommy Edman and Paul Goldschmidt are firing on all cylinders. Tonight they face off against Sonny Gray, who the Cardinals have mashed on in the recent past. Four of the Cardinals players rock a +400 batting average against him.

But, enough with the stats… I am here to pick winners and make you all filthy rich. If you haven’t been moppin’ up what I’m spillin’ then you should maybe find a new hobby.

Birds ML +145. Fade me? LOSE CASH.

PS: If I were you (which I am glad I’m not my life rocks) I would also sprinkle two lovely props.

Arenado HR & Birds win +750 (429 BA vs Gray)

O’Neil HR & Birds win +700 (400 BA vs Gray)

I am NOT telling you to tail, I AM telling you I’m right.
